5 Tips on How to Avoid Sugary Sweets for A More Healthy Lifestyle

Sugar is known to be a “sweet death”. Certainly, it’s just an exaggeration made by fitness and health experts. But did you know that avoiding sugary sweets altogether makes you a more healthy human being? Here are 5 tips you need to know:

1) Find out what products are sugar-containing

You may not even guess that your daily ration contains a lot of sugar. It can be added to any product, since sweeteners cause addiction, so we want to buy the product again and again. Sugar is everywhere: in baked foods, shop-bought milk, and even in salty French fries. Of course, you can’t quit eating all these tasty foods at once, but you can start with the sweetest ones.

2) Out of sight out of mind

Sugar is not so tempting when you don’t have it at home, in your fridge or on the table. If you still can’t resist the temptation, you will most likely not feel like going out to buy some sweets.  

3) Sugarless life

Adjust to a new daily diet to gradually avoid body stress. Try a sugar detox and in 2-3 weeks you’ll be able to say NO to all the “goodies.” You’ll still be irritated by the colleagues, wolfing down birthday cakes, or friends, ordering tiramisu in cafes. Comfort yourself with a thought that by avoiding the forbidden fruit makes you be healthier.

4) Drink a lot of water

Drinking a lot of water will make you feel not so hungry. It’s an integral part of cleansing. If the task is not that easy for you, add a few lemon or lime slices into your water to trick your body into drinking more. 

5) Treat yourself

When you’re dead sure that you won’t give in to temptation any more, there comes the time to treat yourself. For example, you can treat yourself to a bit of dark chocolate or nuts with honey. But go easy on those products in order not to slip up. Allow yourself to eat a little bit of sweets no more than once a week.
