The next big superhero flick is all set to scorch up the screens this weekend! Captain America- Civil Wars hits the theaters and we are more than ready for yet another superhero face-off. In other news, Oscar Foreign film category winner “Son of Saul” makes its on screen debut in UK.
This year’s Academy Award winning Hungarian film “Son of Saul” opens in theaters across UK this weekend.
A hard-hitting drama, set in the Auschwitz concentration camp during the World War II, the film tells the story of inmate Saul Ausländer, who discovers his own son’s body among the dead he’s tasked to burn. The film follows the events in a day and a half as Saul finds himself torn between participating in the uprising of prisoners and providing a proper Jewish burial to his son.
A dark and disturbing depiction of the Holocaust is presented through the film in sheer cinematic brilliance weaved by debutante director Laszlo Nemes. The film takes a plunge into human emotions and desperation and reveals horrifying moments from history that are often overdone on celluloid in its most raw form.
Winner of several accolades including the Grand Prix at Cannes and the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film, Son of Saul is a must to look out for in the theaters as it makes its big release outside the festival circuit, this weekend.
