Film This Weekend: "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi"

Things are about to get busy for movie goers at the theater this weekend! Two unlikely contenders are set for a wide release - John Krasinski starrer action blockbuster “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” and “Spotlight”, a compelling and powerful biography-drama.
A high octane action thriller – 13 hours is about a security team’s struggle against terrorists in the 2012 attacks of the US Embassy in Benghazi, Libya and is based on the book written by Mitchell Zuckoff.
Director Michael Bay’s scorecard with the critics has always been dubious, while his box office numbers have proved his movies to be great crowd pullers. 13 Hours, seemingly follows suit and is everything that an American blockbuster is made of, but somehow it has eluded the favorable glance from the critics. It does have the abundance of gruesome war action scenes that are likely to attract the adrenaline junkies.
There are mixed feelings about John Krasinski’s career facelift and his sudden transition from his guy next door persona to a gun slinging action hero. How his transformation from the nonchalant Jim Halpert of “The Office” to security officer Jack Silva is going to fare for him is yet to be decided. For now, we are digging the new look and the six pack!
