If you're going to be out and about this weekend, get ready to traverse the city of London with some necessary essentials such as a coat, boots, umbrella and a beanie. Reports show that the first droplets of snow is set to fall this weekend as the northerly winds will bring about an arctic blast to the city.
According to a Met Office spokesperson, “We are looking at an increased chance of seeing wintry showers overnight on Friday and into Saturday morning. I wouldn’t be surprised if on Saturday there might be some snow on the ground.”
In addition, Scotland was reported to have experienced a 60% amount of snow last week and temperatures continue to plummet in the area. However, for anyone braving the North Pole air and winter chill this weekend, you can go ahead and visit the V&A museum for a chance to witness an extravagant and once in a lifetime event.
Jewelry lovers and enthusiasts can all come together this weekend in support of one spectacular and luxurious event: Bejewelled Treasures: The Al Thani Collection. The private collection will explore the tradition and modernity of the Indian jewelry craftsmanship. Highlights include the presentation of the Mughal jades, which is considered as a rare jeweled gold finial crafted from the throne of Tipu Sultan. In addition, expect to see pieces during the early 20th century which reveals the dramatic changes that took place in the Indian jewelry design. Sparkly jewels from the Al Thani collection are on show at the V&A, opens this Saturday until 28th of March, 10AM - 5:45PM. Entrance fee costs £10.
For anyone looking to satisfy their cravings for anything tasty this weekend can drop by at the Tobacco Dock. The venue will be transformed into a delightful paradise filled with awe-amazing gourmets such as Roasted Chicken Chili, Lemon & Garlic Soy, Fettuccine, Mushrooms & Black Truffle, and more. You can also watch some world-class chefs as they cook their favourite recipes, grill them with their top kitchen secrets or maybe learn the tricks of the trade as you get up close and personal. In addition to food, you can also sip some fine and tasty champagne while you're at it this weekend. And since the holidays is just days away from happening, you can shop for the perfect Christmas gift from among the boutique producers present in the venue. It’s really a festive (and cold) weekend in London! Venue opens at 11AM - 6PM Saturday, and 11AM - 5PM Sunday.
