Plus making a homemade hair mask is not only very cheap but it is also very easy to make. All you need are some simple kitchen ingredients.

We've come up with some hair masks that you can make at home. Read on for their uses and benefits.

1. Banana Hair Mask

Bananas are one of the fruits available all year round. And while they're good for you, did you know that they are also amazing to use for your beauty needs?  Bananas are super rich in potassium, vitamins, antioxidants, and natural oils. We all know our hair needs all of these vitamins to be healthy and grow strong.

Well, here’s one very simple recipe that could and will help you enjoy fast-growing, long, and healthy hair – instead of eating that last banana, mash it and massage it into your hair and scalp! Just pick a soft, ripe one, mash it into a paste, then apply it on your head and cover with a shower cap. For best result, wrap a hot towel over your head for maximum results or, in case you are out of hot towels, use a hairdryer to help your hair quickly absorb all the nutrients.

2. Coconut Oil with Honey Hair Mask

Coconut and honey are very powerful hair-nourishing ingredients. It keeps hair strong and less prone to premature ageing. It is also known to prevent baldness and hair loss. Add honey to it, another good nature’s ingredient and you're sure to have flawless, healthy hair. Honey, known for its ability to lock in moisture, which can be great for severely dry hair. It also has antioxidants which can encourage hair growth.

For this you will need one tsp. of organic coconut oil, one tablespoon organic raw honey, a sauce pan and a mixing bowl. Mix all these ingredients in a bowl. Though easier to apply to wet hair, this mask can be applied to both wet and dry hair. Part hair in sections and apply on to hair. Let it sit in your hair for 30-40 minutes and rinse off after. You’ll instantly notice softer, smoother and healthier hair.

3. Avocado Hair Mask

You surely know the benefits of Avocado. But aside from the vitamins and nutrients that it gives your body, this wonder fruit can also give wonderful benefits to your hair. For those who have dry hair, applying an avocado hair mask to your damaged hair can add instant shine and luster to your hair. Who doesn’t love a straight and beautiful hair that is locked with moisture, right?

You will need one ripe avocado: pitted and scooped out, two tablespoons of olive oil, and two tablespoons honey. Two to three drops lavender essential oil is optional. Mix in all ingredients in a bowl and apply to damp hair.

4. Apple Cider Hair Mask

Apple cider can make hair look smooth, soft and shiny. It is also a great treatment for dry and itchy scalp. It aids in cleaning dirt build-up in your scalp.
