Posted in: Culture
Glastonbury is the musical highlight of the year for many people but it isn't the only summer musical in the UK worth going to. The following are some of the other events you might want to check out :
The famous Creamfields dance music festival looks like being as good as ever in 2015. It takes place during the August Bank Holiday weekend, running from the 28th of August to the 30th at Daresbury in Cheshire. It is described as the planet's biggest dance festival and the list of acts confirmed to date proves this isn't just an idle boast. Chemical Brothers, Avicii, Pete Tong, Fatboy Slim and Blasterjaxx are among the acts to look out for here.
The 3rd year of this 80's style festival promises to be a cracker. The line up includes classics artists from the past such as The Boomtown Rats, Billy Ocean, Rick Astley, Sister Sledge and ABC. The action kicks off on the 5th of June and runs through to the 7th at the Ashton Court Estate. As well as the option of camping here, there are also some more luxurious glamping spots on offer. This is a child friendly festival too, with the Let's Rock Playpen, the Disco Shack and a circus among the best activities for the little ones. Those rock fans looking for a high-class experience can enjoy the quality food and drink in the VIP zone.
The classic Isle of Wight Festival has brought us some amazing performances over the years and this time around The Black Keys, Fleetwood Mac and The Prodigy are the headline acts. Other artists lined up to appear here include Blur, Kool & The Gang and Pharrell Williams. The action takes place from the 11th to the 14th of June at Seaclose Park on the Isle of Wight.
