Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Details Revealed

Among the most eagerly awaited news at the Mobile World Congress 2016 was that concerning the latest Samsung Galaxy phones.
The Korean firm didn’t let their fans down, as they unveiled the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge to the world at the tech show in Barcelona.
The first piece of welcome news came with the fact that the new models carry on with the same classy metal and glass look of the previous generation of Galaxy models. The new phones both have a curved back, with the Edge also being curved at the front too.
In terms of screen size, the basic S7 model has a 5.1 inch display area, compared to 5.5 inches on the S7 Edge. They both also have an additional display area on the right side, which gives easy access to common tasks such as taking selfies and writing new emails.
Fast Wireless Charging
It is also good to see that the waterproof aspect has been re-instated, after being missed out on the last generation. One issue that remains, though, is that of the battery not being removable. However, on the plus side it is now available with the option of charging quickly on a wireless basis.
A new feature that could be of great interest to many people is the fact that the time and notifications are still visible when the phone is left facing up on a flat surface. According to Samsung, this isn’t a significant drain on the battery, while the screen goes black when you put it in your pocket or bag.
Both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge will be out on the 11th of March, with pre-orders already being taken. In fact, if you pre-order before the 5th of March then you will get your phone early, on the 8th of March. There is also the offer of a free Gear VR headset with pre-ordered phones.
Finally, the UK price for the S7 has been set at £569, with the S7 Edge having a price of £639.
