Reasons Why You Should Travel With Your Partner
Posted in: TRAVEL
When stress gets in the way and you see your daily grind at work as something bland and tasteless, your mind begins to wonder. There’s more to life than sitting at the office from 9am-5pm, going on endless boring meetings, enjoying coffee and cigarette breaks, partying all night long when it’s Friday, and the list could go on. That’s why a lot of people quit their work after a year or so and travel somewhere else. There’s a quote that goes “We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.” And when you finally decide to pack all your bags and embark on this life-changing event, you thought of tagging along your special someone which is a great idea by the way. Traveling alone is fun because you live by your own rules and choices but there are great reasons why you should travel with your partner:
They take good care of you
Traveling with your special someone gives you that secured feeling knowing you will not get into any trouble at the very least. No need to worry if you’ll get drunk and pass out at 3a.m. somewhere along Khao San Road, because you know they will be there to look after you. No need to feel about your safety when you’re crossing the border or when you get stuck somewhere in the middle of nowhere because you have someone you can rely on. Isn’t it such a wonderful, blissful feeling knowing that this person will take good care of you during the rest of your travel and you know for sure that you’ll do the same thing for them.
They keep you grounded and sane
You only have a few dollars left in your pocket but you still have one more month on the road before hitting back home and this thought alone makes you worried sick. How will you be able to make it? Do you need to eat once a day to survive and sustain yourselves? How will you be able to pay the hostel? Do you need to shower twice per week to save water? If all things fail, it’s best to have someone special to be there for you. Despite all the negative things that had happened whether you lost your passport somewhere or you got stranded in a flood due to nonstop rain, your partner is the best person to share these moments with because they know you better than anyone else. They know how to uplift your spirit, keep you grounded and keep your sanity intact and you wouldn’t want any other.
Travel gives you the time to get to know each other better
Traveling is such an exhilarating experience that most of the time it overwhelms and gives us that euphoric feeling however it is not all about lying in the sand, getting your tan and having a good time as you take a sip out of your pina colada. Most of the time, travel is so inconvenient that it lets us confront and tame our own demons. Due to this inevitable experience, both of you and your partners will get to know that part of each other that you haven’t been known for years. Your special someone might be surprised to see you fumed over the fact that you have left your valuables at the hostel when you’re already halfway through your next destination or for the simple fact that you saw how he had the hots for those girls who passed by in their skimpy bikinis. Traveling my dear might drive you both crazy but this is the real purpose of travel, that is, to see each other differently and still decide to love one another despite your flaws and shortcomings.
Travel provides great intimate moments
Oh yes, this one is a definite reason why couples travel together. Ever wonder why there’s a honey moon after the wedding? Because it allows sparks to fly and ignite the fire of desire. Traveling together is a good idea to sustain your intimate needs in a relationship. So make sure you travel with your one and only at least once a year!
There are moments of traveling which are best experienced when shared
This is an absolute truth and most solo travelers you meet on the road might even tell you this. I mean most of them love living their lives, meeting strangers and doing things on their own but some of them are just looking for the right one to share these perfect moments with. Who wouldn’t love having someone as you enjoy watching the sunrise over the temples of Bagan or catching a glimpse of the sunset in the beautiful island of Koh Samui? Ohh, these precious beautiful moments are best shared with a beautiful person.
