Each new month that comes along now gives us another new opportunity to watch some marvellous new releases on Netflix. September is no exception, with some films and shows well worth watching in the new few weeks.

The Kite Runner

The original bestseller book by Khaled Hosseini has been brilliantly converted into this film. It is the emotional and somewhat controversial story of a young Afghan kid who goes to the US and then returns to Afghanistan to try and help his childhood friend. It is very sad and poignant at time but the story is so well told that it will captivate you right from the start all the way to the very end. The Kite Runner is available from the 23rd of September.

Keith Richards: Under the Influence

Fans of The Rolling Stones and rock n roll debauchery in general won't want to miss this documentary, out on the 18th. It takes a close look at the ageing but legendary hell-raiser as he sets about recording his first solo records in close to 20 years.

Toy Story, Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3

The classic kid's film about Woody, Buzz and the rest of the toys is on Netflix this month, where it is joined by the sequels too. The first Toy Story movie is releases on the 11th of the month, as is the cute Monsters University. Toy Story 2 comes out on the 18th and the 3rd instalment appears a week later.

Living on One Dollar

This documentary is already on Netflix, having been released on the 1st of September. It shows us how a group of friends in Guatemala attempt to live on just a dollar a day. Living On One Dollar shows us the soul-crushing poverty, which over a billion people in the world have to put up with on a daily basis.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1

The popular Hunger Games series is back on the 16th, with Jennifer Lawrence waking up in District 13 and discovering that Peeta has been captured and now needs to be saved.
