A couple of big films are out this week, and they both re-visit highly popular movies form the past. Which one of the following are you most likely to go and see?

Magic Mike XXL

If you enjoyed the original Magic Mike movie then you will be pleased to see that Channing Tatum is back with Magic Mike XXL. This time, Mike and the rest of the Kings of Tampa are lure back into the world of stripping for one last performance. It has received mixed reviews and the general opinion seems to be that it isn't quite as enjoyable as the original.

Obviously, this is a light hearted comedy with a lot of bare chests and gyrating. However, it also tries to fit in some tender and emotions at times too. An added twist comes in the shape of the role played by Jade Pinkett-Smith. This is essentially the role played by Matthew McConaughey in the original film. Her presence adds an extra layer to the film and she turns in a good performance.  It isn't the classiest film you see this year but it could give you a bit of harmless fun to liven up your week.

Terminator: Genisys

The Terminator franchise moves into its 5th film with this latest effort. Arnold Schwarzenegger is back, while newcomers to the world of Terminator include Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke and Jai Courtney. The plot is that the evil Skynet has sent a terminator back to kill leader John Connor's mother. You might remember this as the plot from the initial Terminator movie, as it is based on this rather than the sequels that came after it. It all gets a bit confusing but there is plenty of action and explosions to make you forget about the twists and turns in the storyline.

The reviews to date haven't been all that great, to be fair. Many people just seem to get confused with all the time travelling. If you are planning a trip to see this movie then is seems best to just treat it as a light hearted action film rather than worry about what year they are in and all the time travelling paradoxes raised. Do this and you might just re-discover what it was that made the original Terminator movie so special in the first place.
