Monday Detox Recipe: Blueberry Fruit Salad Dressing

Blueberries are widely regarded as one of the best detox foods but how will you introduce them to your diet for a healthy start to the week? If you are fed up of just using them in blueberry smoothies then it is probably time to find a different way of using this fantastic fruit. Certainly, with all of the health benefits that blueberries bring you don't want to stop using them just because you don't know any decent recipes. A cracking blueberry fruit salad dressing is a fine choice of detox food and the following recipe will help you get a tasty Monday treat that kick-starts your week  even if you enjoyed the weekend a little too much.

Ingredients

  • Half a cup of fresh blueberries (if you prefer to use frozen blueberries be sure to thaw them first)
  • Half a cup of water
  • 4 teaspoons of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Half a teaspoon of fresh lemon rind 
  • A quarter teaspoon of salt
  • A quarter teaspoon of fresh ground black pepper

Method

  1. Add all the ingredients together in a small bowl and stir well
  2. Cover and allow to chill in the fridge
  3. This dressing is ideal for use over a variety of foods and will add a fresh, zingy touch to your Monday fruit salad. It can also be used over vegetable salads or cooked chicken
