Loved him as Kylo Ren? Watch Adam Driver Transform into a Poet in Patterson
Posted in: FILM THIS WEEKEND
It’s no secret that Adam Driver has managed to steal many a hearts with his epic portrayal of Kylo Ren in Star Wars. We are sold on Kylo’s brooding charm and oozing dark sexiness, in all his bad boy glory. But, the actor behind everybody’s favorite bad guy, has got more to him than just an infectious smile that drives girls around the world crazy - we can very well call him as one of the rising stars among the young guns in Hollywood today.
Adam’s choice of projects has always been interesting - from playing the guy next door in Lena Dunham TV series, “Girls”, to already having bagged important roles in a Coen brothers film and a Martin Scorcese film so early in his career. And, with his new movie “Paterson” releasing this weekend, we are about to see the talented actor in a very different avatar from all his previous works!
Directed by Jim Jarmusch, Paterson, has already created a few waves in the festival circuit this year. The film is set in present day Paterson, New Jersey and Adam stars in the titular role, playing a bus driver who happens to be a closet poet.
Paterson also stars Golshifteh Farahani as Paterson’s wife Laura who is his closest confidante and an admirer of his poems. The film is a beautiful drama film about life and it’s mundane circles as opposed to the liberty of arts. So many people live dual lives among us, with the daily grunt and day jobs keeping them away from realizing their dreams and sometimes we just go with the flow and forget who we really are. And, the film seems to be a perfect ode to all those people.
In the end the film leaves a beautiful message to never give up, no matter how un-achievable your dreams may seem. But, if you want to see Kylo Ren transform into a common man, so relatable to each one of us, and mouthing some breathtaking poetry through those gorgeous lips - you might want to buy yourself a ticket for this one.
Go watch Paterson this weekend!
