This weekend is certainly jampacked with activities, from empowering women at the Women of the World Festival, The Big London Night Walk event that serves a good purpose to celebrating St. Patrick's Festival which is loaded with fun and merriment. Get ready to enjoy the weekend in London:

Women of the World Festival

Come and celebrate the Women of the World Festival as we all come together to champion gender equality through talks, debates, workshops, performances and more. This weekend, bring your friends and family as you enjoy activity highlights that serve a beautiful purpose amongst women the world over. The festival opened on March 8th and will continue through up until the 13th; public spaces open at 10AM and will close at 11PM. Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, London SE1 8XX United Kingdom

Shami Chakrabarti Opens the Women of the World Festival

Shami Chakrabarti, Director of Liberty, opens the Women of the World Festival this Friday, March 11, at the Clore Ballroom at Royal Festival Hall. Chakrabarti will be sharing her 12 years of experience as the Director of Liberty by talking about the struggles women face in order to achieve freedom. Her "Hands on the Levers of Power" talk will start at 9:30AM up until 11AM. Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, Belvedere Rd, London SE1 8XX, United Kingdom

WOW Views on the News

Kick off your Saturday morning by hearing the latest news as Jude Kelly and journalist, Yasmin Alibhai-Brown gives you the lowdown on the headlines. In addition, Anisa Khalique who is a year 12 student from Mulberry School for girls will also be speaking about the latest news along with WOW programmer, Domino Pateman. The event starts at 9:30AM and will run through 10AM at the Clore Ballroom at Royal Festival Hall; be sure to come prepared with an open mind. An Evening of Conversation with Annie Lenox

Watch Kung Fu Panda

Jack Black voices for the world’s favorite martial arts wielding panda, Po the Dragon Warrior, in the third installment of the Kung Fu Panda series. Watch The Divergent Series: Allegiant

Shailene Woodly returns as Tris in the latest Divergent movie – The Allegiant. The Big London Night Walk

The Big London Night Walk returns for its sixth year this March, paving way for Big Issue vendors to restore normal life away from being homeless. This fundraiser event will have over 250 participants that will walk a 20km distance throughout central London after nightfall. The walkathon event will also feature four rest stops that will have people sharing their life experiences and insights about being homeless. Snacks and hot drinks will be provided as the event will finish between 2AM to 5AM. Meanwhile, the St. John's Church will remain open for anyone who will be staying until the tubes and trains are open. St John's, Hyde Park Cres, London W2 2QD, United Kingdom

St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival

Cap off your weekend by celebrating St. Patrick's Day in the heart of central London. Trafalgar Square will be brimming with bright lights, parades and dances as the festival showcases the best of the Irish culture. Jampacked with activities, be sure you start it by watching the colourful parade which leaves at Piccadilly and ends at the Trafalgar Square. Junun ft Shye Ben Tzur + Jonny Greenwood + The Rajasthan Express + Ah! Kosmos

For an inspiring weekend treat, Barbican Contemporary Music gives you a powerful sonata of Eastern and Western musical traditions via Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood and Israeli composer, Shye Ben Tzur. The musical event will feature their first full UK performance of their new project called "Junun". Program will start at 8PM onwards at the Barbican Centre.
