Let's Talk Beauty: 5 Skincare Sins To Avoid
We all want healthy-looking skin because it speaks a lot about how we take care of ourselves, right? But sometimes, some of our skincare habits don't usually end up that "beneficial" to the skin. There are so many things to list down, but here's our top 5 skincare sins to avoid doing in the future:
1) When You Avoid Oils
Oils may seem a little too greasy on your face, but they're actually going to keep your skin looking youthful and healthy. Beauty oils are especially beneficial during the winter season because they help do away with with dry and hard skin conditions. The top three oils are coconut oil, avocado oil and olive oil.
2) When You Don't Wear Sunscreen
Not wearing sunscreen is giving your skin a chance to go dry, get weakened, wrinkled and colourless. In fact, you will give your skin a good amount of chance to have skin cancer when you don't wear or apply sunscreen on a daily basis. So in order to protect your skin from further damage, experts recommend using sunscreens with at least 30 sun protection factor or SPF.
3) When You Wear Makeup Products Everyday
We can go on and on about why we should not wear makeup everyday (and fall asleep with them on!), but here's a fact: giving your skin a chance to breathe and rejuvenate makes for a healthy investment. And yes, your skin will thank you later!
4) When You Over-Scrub Your Face
Exfoliating one's skin is pretty much a necessity in terms of your skincare routine; it helps to clean your skin and make it smooth and radiant. But did you know over-scrubbing actually leads to damaging your skin such as making your pores even bigger and your skin even more oily. The best way to exfoliating your skin is by opting for an exfoliator that contains sea salt and/or sugar; square or irregular grains can lead to skin lacerations due to frequent use.
5) When You Pick A Pimple Spot
Ladies, before you pop that pimple spot just think about the end cause of your action. Do you really want to leave scars on your face just because of acne? Moreover, picking can actually lead to bacterial infection due to dirty hands or non-sterile tools being used. The best solution is to just massage them until they're no longer inflamed because with time, they will literally go away.
