The newest crime drama series “American Crime Story: People vs. OJ Simpson” is now on its 4th episode, and we couldn't be anymore hooked! This true-to-life retelling of the infamous O.J. Simpson case has been as nail-biting as it is gripping which is why we're paying close attention up until the end. Here's what you need to know why the docu-series is so addictive:
What is it About – The 1995 murder case of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman which led to the trial of pro football player-actor OJ Simpson and his eventual acquittal. The case that had become one of the most followed cases in American history was televised live and marked the birth of reality TV. The investigations became a point of discussion as it brought the subjects of race, sex, and socialite life into the picture. America was hooked to every detail of the case, interested in every development, but it’s about time to rehash the memories!
Why You Should Watch – Well, apart from the fact that it has got crime, drama, murder-mystery and celebrity details, there are quite a few other reasons which make the series hard to ignore. For instance, an A-list cast that includes Cuba Gooding Jr. as OJ Simpson, John Travolta as ace lawyer Robert Shapiro, David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian and Selma Blair as none other than Kris Jenner! Needless to point out that the performances are exemplary! The Kardashians have ruled reality television for the longest of time and it might be an interesting watch to see them as characters played by other great actors.
The other reason one should definitely not miss out on it is because of the critical acclaim the series has been receive and it’s only the pilot that has aired yet. If the 97% on Rotten Tomatoes is any indication, the series seems to be hitting the right chords. The writing and screenplay is crisp and keeps the tension alive. It is hard hitting to say the very least. Also, John Travolta’s new avatar is worth keeping a watch out for!
With the kind of buzz it is causing, probably everyone is likely to jump o the bandwagon…sooner or later. Here’s a quick peek into the series:
