Have been missing the wizarding world lately?  Since the last Harry Potter film made its release fans have been going through some serious withdrawal symptoms. And, it has lasted longer than we we ever thought! But, hold on your breath - because we are about to take yet another trip to the magical world with the new Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film. The film has been scripted by none other than J.K. Rowling and is a spin off from the Harry Potter books

So, are we ready for a magical journey? Here’s all you need to know before you embark on it!

What’s it About

Avid fans might remember the title from the Hogwarts syllabus written by a certain magizoologist - Newt Scamander. That’s exactly where the spin off takes off from! Our new protagonist Newt Scamander exists in a timeline years before the Harry Potter stories, exploring Scamander’s life story in around 1926. The film begins with Newt arriving in America, with a host of his magical creatures - only to lose them - which sets him on a journey to retrieve them all!

The Stars

We’ve seen him in serious roles like in The Danish Girl and The Theory of Everything, now is the time to see Eddie Redmayne as a young wizard! And we must admit he looks totally dapper in that attire!

Colin Farrell plays Percival Graves, the official sent to track Newt. And we have Samantha Morton as Mary Lou, a non-magical human (?) who wants to rid the world of witches and wizards.

Apart from that we have Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone, and speculation is Johnny Depp fills the shoes of the dark wizard in the series - Gellert Grindelwald.

The Keywords

Apart from the spells and curses - the Fantastic Beasts movie is largely set in 1926 New York - which means the lingo is quite different from as we know it in the modern wizarding London.

So, instead of “muggles” non-magical persons shall be referred to as “no-maj” people. And, the American version of Ministry of Magic is known as MACUSA or Magical Congress of the United States of America!

All set to and excited to enter the magical territory? Don’t forget to carry your wands!
