Female celebs constantly set new fitness trends. Yoga, Pilates, step aerobics, crossfit… Been there, done that. If crossfit and yoga sounds too mainstream for you, how about… boxing?

In 2016, more and more women around the world are transforming their bodies and shedding pounds with the help of boxing!

Forget the myth that boxing is only for brutal men. Not really. In fact, when you see a woman beat the hell out of a punching bag – I’m sure every one of you goes, ‘Damn! That actually looks cool!’

While boxing has been widely popular for decades, famous actresses, models and singers are making boxing a fitness trend for body-toning and weight-loss only now.

And it’s not surprising that boxing has a weight-loss effect, as it’s a perfect combination of cardio, endurance and power training.

Even though Ellie Goulding has previously admitted to being a fan of running, she also loves boxing! The Love Me Like You Do singer is no stranger to posting Instagram snaps of herself doing boxing trainings in the gym.

Interestingly, it was boxing that helped the singer recover from her 2014 knee injury. And that’s not surprising since punches and dodges help strengthen the knees and reduce the risk of getting a knee injury. 

Boxi Queen #2: Adriana Lima

Victoria’s Secret supermodel Adriana Lima knows one thing for certain: in order to maintain a beautiful shape, you need to work hard. Lima has been using boxing as her cardio physical activity for more than a decade already.

In one of her interviews, Lima even called boxing her “passion.” In fact, it was boxing that helped the supermodel walk Victoria’s Secret’s catwalk just five weeks after giving birth to her second baby.

Boxi Queen #3: Shay Mitchell

Shay Mitchell, whom you probably know from Pretty Little Liars, loves to do a few rounds in the ring every time she hits the gym. She has been trained by Michael Olajide, who works with pretty much all Victoria’s Secret models.

Mitchell said that boxing is a great cardio routine that helped her get back in shape before starting to film new seasons of Pretty Little Liars.
