Posted in: FILM THIS WEEKEND
We are gearing up for a weekend at the cinemas we are taken down the memory lane with a live-action adaptation of a Disney classic and a biography on the life of the most sought after Jazz musician to have ever lived. Things are as exciting as it gets!
Disney has done it again in creating yet another timeless classic, and it’s none other than “The Jungle Book”! The studio is keeping up with its streak of making a successful movie based on animals, right after the immense success it found with “Zootopia”. We are not entirely stranger to the story of Mowgli, a young boy lost in the jungle and raised by a wolf pack, but Disney is stretching the boundaries of storytelling and blending live-action and CGI elements with this one.
The classic animated movie based on the same source of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book had released in 1967and even the classic fans should be impressed with the new film’s brilliant execution.
The film is marked by some impressive performances, especially one by child actor Neel Sethi who portrays the protagonist. Also, the voice actors seem to be extremely well cast. Everybody right from Bill Murray as the garrulous bear Baloo to Idris Elba as the treacherous Shere Khan, bring their characters to life on screen. Other in the cast includes, Scarlett Johnasson as Kaa, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Christopher Walken as King Louie and Lupita Nyong’o as Raksha.
The Jungle Book qualifies as a family entertainer equally enjoyable by adults and kids alike and is a must-see this season.
