Gearing up for a thrill break at the theatres this weekend as Jack Black starrer horror comedy “Goosebumps” and the adrenaline loaded remake of the Keanu Reeves blockbuster “Point Break” are set to make a wide release. Does a Jack Black brings out his signature laughs with the former or Point Break trumps it as a 2016 version of a classic 90s film?
Hell breaks loose after deadly characters from the imagination of horror author R.L. Stine (Jack Black) are unleashed into the real world, and it’s up to him, his teenage daughter Hannah (Odeya Rush) and unsuspecting new teen neighbor Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) to send them back into book world.
Directed by Rob Letterman, Goosebumps instantly transports the audience into a world of make belief and keeps them affixed to the story. Even though the film’s main audience are teens the high entertainment level and goofy laughs keeps viewers of all ages engaged. Jack Black’s perfect comic timing works perfectly as he takes on an unfamiliar role of a YA author and makes it his own. While the delightful gags, sporadic horror and crazy situations make it tailor made entertainer.
For a super fun time at the cinemas with the entire family this week, Goosebumps packs in enough of the goosebumps and wow moments to keep you at the edge of your seats.
