When summer comes around and the sun is shining there are few things better than putting on some great music to get us in a summer mood. The following are some of our all time favourite summer songs.

In the Summertime – Mungo Jerry

If this song was any more laidback it would be fast sleep out in the patio. It is from 1970 but even today it gives us a carefree summery feel that sounds amazing on a sunny day. Once you start singing along with the chh chh-chh part then you know that summer has really started at last.

California Girls - The Beach Boys

In this case, the vibe is 60s surfing this time. To be fair, you could put on just about any Beach Boys tune to get in a summer mood if you wanted to. With this song, your worries will just disappear as you feel the timeless pleasure of great music and the sun on your face

Sun is Shining – Bob Marley

Summer would that little bit less fun without the music of Bob Marley. Just about any of Bob's songs will get you in the right mood but this one is virtually guaranteed to put a smile on your face when you hear it on a summer's day.

Lovely Day – Bill Withers

This is the ideal way to start your day, especially when you are 100% convinced that it is indeed going to be a lovely day. It is a sunny sort of song that is fantastic as a wake up song in the summer and will instantly put you in a good mood.

Summer of 69 – Bryan Adams

Few songs are capable of transporting us back to the carefree summer days of the past like this one. Put it on and just forget about your worries for a few minutes while you sing with Bryan and remember summers gone by.

Macarena – Los Del Rio

Anyone who has ever danced along to Macarena on a summer holiday will always have a special place for it in their heart. It doesn't even matter if you can't understand any of the lyrics; this is pure summer fun that we all love.
