If only weekends could last longer than two days... but no. We all have to face Monday, and getting up from the bed and preparing for work (or school) isn't usually what we all look forward to (except for the truly inspired). Since we all share the same ordeal, we've come up with 5 of the best London cafes and coffee shops that'll make your mornings extra special. The shops we featured offers their espressos for a little over £2 per cup, such a good way to start your morning, right? Check out where to head for coffee the moment you wake up on a Monday morning:

Curators Coffee Studio

It might not be an ideal coffee shop to stay and mingle (seating arrangements only available for at least six people!), but Curators Coffee Studio along Cullum Street offers quality brewing. It's actually the perfect coffee shop for city dwellers rushing in for work early in the morning. Espresso only costs about £2.20 per cup. If you're looking for food, we highly recommend you pair your coffee with a French Butter Croissant or the Almond Croissant. Their "Curators Granola" serving is a mix of berry compote, Greek yogurt and fresh berries for a healthy morning takeaway.

Location: Curators Coffee Studio, 9A Cullum St, London EC3M 7JJ, United Kingdom

The Espresso Room

Tiny but mighty, The Espresso Room located at the Great Ormond Street offers what you need on a work week: espresso-based coffees, sandwiches, baked goods and daily soup. The shop's espressos are usually made using Caravan beans as well as guest beans on rotation. Although it's a small coffee shop to begin with, you get value for your money; a delicious cup of joe to get your through Monday. They have a lovely selection of bread, croissants and other dessert if you're looking to fuel up your day.

Notes

If you're somewhere near Trafalgar Square, why not go on a short re-route and head over to Notes  at St. Martin's Lane before you stride off to the office? Mornings are not as packed compared to a weekday afternoon, so you get to sip an aromatic espresso before meeting clients or doing paperworks. You can also choose to enjoy a hearty jumbo oat porridge, mango & chia seed pot or toast with avocado to accompany your coffee.

Location: Notes, 31 St Martin's Ln, London WC2N 4ER, United Kingdom

Workshop Coffee (Clerkenwell)

If you're a freelance writer, photographer or artist looking to kick start your day with a lovely cup of espresso, then head over to Workshop Coffee along Clerkenwell Road. They have reasonably priced food and drinks as well as a large barista counter that'll cater to your caffeine needs. Their menu covers from breakfast, brunch, lunch to dinner, so you can pretty much start and end your day here. Espresso is priced at £2.40 per cup. Pair it with a slice of toasted banana bread, or anything from the cafe's menu, really.
