Are You Ready for OITNB Season 4? Here’s What We Know So Far
Posted in: FEATURE
Wait, is the Orange is the New Black getting even bigger this year? Oh well, we certainly won’t be surprised! Especially with the prison becoming privatized now and the cliffhanger from last season that gave us a minor heart attack. Is Alex really going to die? Here’s what we know so far about the impending season, but let us warn you about the spoilers!
Where Are We Picking Up From – So, we know how things went down in the last season. It turned out Alex Vause’s paranoia wasn’t exactly in her head, and Kubra might actually be out to get her. The curtains dropped on her being cornered at the greenhouse, while the prison was preparing to increase the capacity with new prisoners arriving at Litchfield.
Where Are We Headed – It has been confirmed that prison overcrowding is going to be the pivotal theme this season. And, with that comes new guards who are going to make the situation at Litchfield a little more complicated. So, yes it’s bigger (in population) than ever now. As for our characters they are all heading in different directions.
Alex – Well, hold your breath…. Yes, Alex is very much alive this season and we knew it the minute we heard her voice in the trailer. How she got out of the greenhouse situation is still a mystery though.
Sophia – Things are not looking up for Sophia this season as she gets locked up in the SHU by Caputo. The trailers look distressing, but we hope she doesn’t have to go through all the assault any more. This is also going to be one of the major storylines in Season 4.
Piper- We’ll see less of Piper this season according to the statements made by the shoes makers. However, since for the first time in the show, she’s all alone – it also means she’s in a vulnerable state. And that we can confirm from one of the trailers where she says "I've been in Litchfield for a while now, and I've started to feel unsafe lately.” Her panty business will still be in focus though.
What’s New? – The most interesting part is going to be the number of new cast members who are joining this season. We’ll have to wait and watch where the equation between the prisoners stands once they are added to it. Jolene Purdy is one of the new faces, though her exact role is still unconfirmed. The other notable addition will be actress Blair Brown as Judy King, who will indeed be one of the new inmates who had been a former cooking show host. Martha Stewart vibes, anyone?!
Also joining the cast will be Brad William Henke, Mike Houston and Kelly Karbacz.
All these updates definitely have us clearing up our Netflix schedule in time for the premiere. Block your dates, people – Orange is the New Black premiers on the 17th this month!
