Angelina Jolie: Actress, Mother, UN Ambassador
Posted in: FEATURE
Angelina Jolie is one of few celebrities on earth that deserves the love and admiration. Just like all modern women, Jolie combines multiple roles in life and keeps herself occupied with not just one thing: Jolie is director, actress, mother, philanthropist and UNHCR special envoy for refugees.
Angelina Jolie was named the most admired woman in the world earlier this year, which says a lot about a woman who surpassed a woman who’s running in the 2016 Presidential Election – Hilary Clinton.
In her career lifetime, the 40-year-old actress has been voted as the ‘most beautiful woman’ by many magazines such as Vogue, Esquire, Vanity Fair and Hello.
Angelina Jolie has starred in movies such as Mr & Mrs Smith (along with her husband Brad Pitt), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Changeling, and most recently – Maleficent and By the Sea, which she directed and once again starred alongside her husband. On top of that, the woman we love directed Unbroken, a story about a U.S. Olympic distance runner who survived World War II. The movie brought Jolie three Academy Awards nominations last year.
But it’s not just her acting and directing skills that helped her become the woman we love and admire today. Over the past decade, Angelina Jolie has been involved in various international charity projects, especially those helping refugees and the starving children in Africa.
And it’s especially surprising how Jolie manages to find time for all that, since she is also a mother of six children: three adopted kids and three biological children with Pitt.
Angelina Jolie, who was voted by Forbes Magazine as one of the ‘highest-paid actresses’ in 2013 with an estimated net worth of over $ 120 million, is one of the most popular celebrities in the world today.
In her recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, Angelina Jolie revealed that through her humanitarian work she managed to find herself. On top of being UNHCR special envoy, Jolie was also asked to become UNHCR’s goodwill ambassador.
Angelina Jolie also received a huge deal of respect from women all around the world for her decision to go public with her preventive double mastectomy in 2013 as well as the removal of her ovaries earlier this year.
Last month, Jolie was excited to see the release of her film By the Sea, in which she appeared on screen alongside her husband for the first time in a decade. The story is centered around a former dancer Vanessa (Jolie) and her husband (Pitt), who travel the country together. The couple seems to be growing apart, but then it all changes in a quiet seaside town.
