5 Yoga Poses for Beginners: Important Asanas You Should Know
Posted in: FITNESS
Yoga is a great way to find the harmony between the body and soul. After all, with constant practice, you can get the expanded consciousness and the full harmony within. If you’ve decided to start doing yoga (because everyone else does?) then do the following set of asanas in the morning. It will not, of course, replace a workout or a jogging regimen, but it will become a good habit to kick start your day. Here are 5 asanas or yoga poses you should know:
1. Utkatasana (The Chair Pose)

Utkatasana (The Chair Pose) tones your leg muscles and strengthens hip flexors, calves, ankles, and back. It also helps to stretch the chest and shoulders and reduces symptoms of flat feet. Besides, it’s a great asana to stimulate the heart, diaphragm, and abdominal organs.
To do the exercise stand straight with your feet shoulder-width apart. Stretch your arms up while breathing out. Then sit down a little as if you’re going to sit on a chair or a sofa. Squeeze your abs in. Stay in the pose for 30-40 seconds. Your breathing should be smooth and quiet.
After 30 seconds of standing straight, then lower your arms down.
Perform the asanas in the pace that is comfortable for you. Perform at least three breaths (inhalation-exhalation) during each exercise, the pauses between the asanas should be minimal.Subscribe to UpdatesRelated Articles
