London is home to many incredible kebab restaurants, ranging from high class, Michelin-starred restaurants to more modest eateries. In both cases, you can get a fantastic kebab dish from any of the places we're going to feature below:

Amaya, Motcombe Street, Knightsbridge

This elegant contemporary Indian restaurant in Belgravia is just about the best looking place you could ever eat a kebab, although it also offers a full Indian menu too. The open grill kitchen is exciting to watch but it is the food that makes Amaya so special. The approach taken here is to provide kebabs at the start of the meal, before the main course comes along. A meal in Knightsbridge here will cost you about £30 per person before drinks. We highly suggest you try one of their specialties called "Char-Grilled Jumbo Madagascan Prawn" for a sumptuos delicacy.

Efes, Great Titchfield Street, Various London Locations

For a traditional Turkish kebab in an authentic setting it is hard to imagine a better location than Efes on Great Titchfield Street. The speciality here is Efes Donner Kebab, a succulent offering served with rice and salad for £10.95. There are a number of other kebab options to choose from, with Adana Kebab and Iskender Kebab among them. For £25 per person you can get a lovely meal, with drinks costing extra. Other than that, we highly recomment you try the Russian Salad consisting of diced carrots, potatoes, pickles, eggs and peas in mayonnaise if you're into a vegan diet.

Alounak, Kensington and Notting Hill

Persian restaurant Alounak started out from humble beginnings but now has a couple of hugely popular restaurants in the capital. Online reviews are generally extremely positive, with a number of people calling them the best kebabs they have ever tried. The only possible drawback is that not everyone appears to be impressed by the service at Alounak, on Westbourne Grove. Our favourite dish is the Mirza Ghassemi consisting of char grilled aubergine, fried onion, garlic, tomato and eggs. We also loved the chicken special on the menu since it gave us best of red and white lamb mined kebab and cubed chicken kebab.

Tayyabs, Whitechapel

This family run Punjabi restaurant started out in Fieldgate Street, Whitechapel in 1972 and is still growing strong. They now offer kebabs and a range of other great food in a spacious and elegant setting. The traditional seekh kebab is one of the highlights of the menu here. It is cooked to perfection on the grill and flavoured with intense spices. In addition, we're loving their Tandoori Chicken and Masala Fish dishes. Also, try their spicy Lamb Chops because no visit is really complete at Tayyab’s without tasting their traditional dish, delivered sizzling from the grill.
