3 Low Carb Smoothies You'll Want to Drink this Spring

In lieu of spring, we're all excited to finally go out and have some fun under the sun and catch some much needed Vitamin D without actually freezing (goodbye, winter!). But not all of us are prepared to show off what we have because food is just, well, a tad bit tempting. The smoothies we're about to share, however, will help you prep up for a sexy and healthy bod this spring (and of course, summer). These will also help you get energised for the upcoming activities ahead, and they are good remedies for bloating, too! Plus, they're all deliciously healthy. Check out the smoothie recipes below:

1) Cucumber Kale Juice

Preparation time: 5 min
Servings: 2

Ingredients:

  • juice of 1/4 lemon
  • 3 celery stalks, chopped
  • 6 leaves lacinato kale, chopped
  • half a cucumber, peeled, diced
  • a drizzle of olive oil

Method:

  1. Throw all the ingredients into a good food processor.
  2. Blend the mixture until it becomes smooth.
  3. Add in the olive oil, lemon juice and blend for another minute.
  4. Serve fresh.

2) Watermelon Antioxidant Juice

Preparation time: 5 min
Servings: 2

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of watermelon
  • 2 cups of pea shoots (sprouts)
  • 3 ½ inch of ginger

Method:

  1. Start with peeling the watermelon.
  2. Cut the watermelon into semi thick chunks.
  3. Grate the ginger.
  4. Throw all the ingredients into a blender.
  5. Add some water if needed.
  6. Blend the mixture for 4 minutes or until the mixture becomes super smooth.
  7. Serve immediately.

3) Honeydew Melon Juice

Preparation time: 5 min
Servings: 2

Ingredients:

1 medium cucumber
1 cup of honeydew melon
4 romaine leaves

Method:

  1. Peel your cucumber and the honeydew melon.
  2. Dice them into medium chunks.
  3. Chop the romaine leaves and throw all the ingredients into a fine blender.
  4. Blend it for 3 minutes or until everything gets dissolved.
  5. Add raw honey to it if preferred.
  6. Serve.
