Gross negligence as well as police errors resulted in 96 deaths of football fans, the inquests concluded on Tuesday. The conclusion comes 27 years after the 1989 Hillsborough disaster. 

The court concluded that match commander Ch Supt David Duckenfield is to blame for manslaughter by gross negligence due to his inadequate duty of care actions during a football match on 15 April 1989.

This week has been full of events. And while the EU referendum still remains the trendiest topic in the U.K., Britons had something else to talk about this week: the Queen’s 90th birthday. 

As the Queen celebrates her 90th birthday on Thursday, the whole nation had some sweet things to say. U.K.’s Prime Minister David Cameron, in particular, said the Queen has been “a rock of strength for our nation” and the Commonwealth.

A deadly huge explosion hit the center of the Afghan capital Kabul, resulting in several deaths and leaving more than 200 people injured, according to Kabul officials.

According to interior ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqqi, the deadly blast was carried out by a suicide bomber, who planted a bomb in a vehicle. Meanwhile, gunfire can still be heard in the area.

More than half of Muslims in the U.K. think homosexuality should be banned, while nearly half think it’s inappropriate for gay people to teach children in schools, according to a new survey by the polling agency ICM.

The results come from survey of 1,081 British Muslims by ICM for a TV program called What British Muslims Really Think. The TV program airs on Wednesday this week on Britain’s Channel 4, but the findings have already triggered quite an uproar in the U.K.

This week, the world has been discussing the Panama Papers. As many as over 11 million secret documents were leaked on Sunday, revealing that some of the most influential and powerful people in the world own offshore accounts in Panama. 

U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron also appears to have ties to the Panama Papers, as his late father Ian used one of the most clandestine tools of the offshore trade.

UPDATE: EgyptAir hijacking is over. All hostages have been released and the hijacker surrendered. No one was injured in the hijacking.

Most of the passengers and crew members have been freed from the Egyptian plane that was hijacked by a passenger who claimed to be wearing a suicide explosive belt.
